Rural landscape and lake in Aysén, Chilean Patagonia

This eight-day Aysén Patagonia private journey brings together glacier landscapes, Marble Caves kayaking and rural encounters in southern Chile. Arranged by The Other Way with our local specialists, it offers private groups of 2–10 a route through Coyhaique, Puerto Río Tranquilo and Puerto Guadal.

In Aysén, the road is part of the experience. Lakes open between mountain ranges; glacial ice gives way to sculpted marble, working rural lands and open steppe. This is Chilean Patagonia seen through several different landscapes, with time alongside people who live here.

The variety is the point: Laguna San Rafael’s glacier, kayaking among the Marble Caves, horseback riding as part of a rural cultural immersion, and the landscapes of Patagonia National Park and Cerro Castillo. Puerto Guadal, on the southern shore of General Carrera Lake, becomes a base for three nights.

Our specialist Patagonia partners describes its approach as rural and scientific expeditions. Its local team brings natural-history interpretation and an understanding of rural life to the route. For travellers who want context alongside the scenery, those conversations can be as valuable as the viewpoints.
