The Best Hikes in Zermatt — Away From the Crowds
Everyone photographs the Matterhorn from Riffelsee, worth doing once. But the Europaweg — a high-altitude trail connecting Zermatt to Grächen — gives hikers a full, unbroken view of the Matterhorn massif with a fraction of the foot traffic. The Höhbalmen loop is a quieter single-day alternative, climbing through larch forest to open alpine meadow.
